I would consider myself an amateur naturalist. I've been interested in nature photography, particularly birds, for nearly a decade. My favorite subjects are shorebirds and waterfowl. Although I'm not a scientist, I have the good fortune to work at the Seymour Center at Long Marine Lab as the Admissions Coordinator, helping visitors better understand marine science and conservation, and I get to see interesting sea creatures daily. I live in Santa Cruz, California where I have amazing access to habitat that supports a huge diversity of species. I use photography to celebrate my love of the natural world.
