Red Cedar School is a K-8 independent school in Bristol, Vermont. Our small multi-age classes emphasize inquiry, writing, reading, discussion, and hands-on learning. Field research, travel study, wilderness trips, workshops, the outdoor classroom, and the school garden are at the heart of our interactive curriculum. We cultivate both personal and social responsibility while supporting intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and communication skills. Our belief is that students grow to become active citizens of their local and world community by developing strong relationships with the natural world. Our hope is that Red Cedar students develop a life long love of learning within a community that values mutual respect and honors the voice of each individual.
