Professor of Biological Sciences, Humboldt State University. I began working with bats in 1984 for my PhD dissertation. I began tracking and recording species-known bats in 1991, and analyzed the signals with routines I coded that I grew into SonoBat software that I began sharing with others in 1998.
I have taught field classes and workshops to train biologists in techniques for working with bats since 1996.
