Parrot snake (Leptophis sp.) headshot. Scale counts did not match Leptophis ahaetulla, but was most similar to Leptophis modestus which would be another new park record (we recorded 6 new records for the park, four of which were found by yours truly).

In 2012 a new concrete bridge was constructed to cross the Ivon river south of Riberalta. The bridge is now the home of at least 40 bats tentatively identified as Phyllostomus hastatus.
Edit: A comment from another ¡naturalist user made me aware I included pictures of another species of bat (Carollia probably). I thus eliminated this picture from this observation and uploaded it separately, while including more pictures.
I've seen a number of toucans distantly in the trees around here in the high jungle of San Martin, Peru, over the last few weeks - their outlines clearly visible high in the tree tops, silhouetted against the sky, but before I can get in range for a shot, they're gone. This evening I got close enough in the fading for these 2 shots which aren't great photos but hopefully enough to identify it.
