I was working on my back porch one night when I heard this incredible screeching sound. Attached is a live recording of some kind of wild animal in the woods of central New Jersey. Perhaps it was a Banshee or the Jersey Devil himself?
The pictures do not show the animal, just the setting. One at night and the other daytime.
Need to ID what it is! There are two audio tracks to listen to. Taken within a couple of minutes of each other.
They were recorded at approximately 10 PM. It was overcast and completely dark. I would really like to know what this was if anyone can ID by the sound. I live near a wetlands, and we have lots of Deer, Red Hawks, Owls, Ground Hogs, Possums and Red Fox.
The sound seemed to start behind my house, in the wetlands and then circled the house and finally returned to the wetlands. It moved quite fast, and persisted for about 5 minutes.
