This family of owls were just starting to fledge, with the juveniles making short, exploratory flights around the area. Photos taken at dusk as they were beginning to emerge.

My wife and I did an early morning kayak trip and were the only ones on the river. Saw a pair of these owls perched about 15' up in trees next to the water.
Looked like it might be a juvenile; only about 6-7" tall. It has the longest ears I've seen on a screech owl before.
I've been trying to get a picture of these beautiful animals for 7 years. We've heard them and seen them flying but I haven't been able to photograph then until tonight. Please confirm my identification.
