Alabama has some of the last eastern hemlock stands that are unaffected by the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA), which has wiped out many hemlocks throughout the eastern united states.

The purpose of this project is to create a log of where eastern hemlock stands are in Alabama so that we can monitor them for HWA activity. Any evidence of HWA activity can be noted in the project so that it can be reported.
