Pakake / NZ Sea Lion / Hookers Sea Lion

The NZ Sea Lion has only recently returned to mainland beaches to breed. There are only a handful of breeding females on the Otago Peninsula and Catlins coast. Pups are born is late Dec- Jan.
We need sightings of any female (creamy/silver) sea lions or pups on the mainland. Unlike the smaller NZ fur seal NZ Sea Lions haul out on sandy beaches. For more info on NZ Sea lions go to www.sealiontrust.org.nz.
Please record (ideally with photograph ), date, location, time of day and whether it had any flipper tags.
Don't put yourself at risk trying to read tag numbers- keep safe distance and use telephoto and Hi-res setting on camera.
