ACK Wrack

Beach combers can assist in making important observations of our beaches. Contribute to our understanding of what washes up or is beached on Nantucket by recording that line or roll of eelgrass or algae left on the beach as the tide recedes. Wrack reveals a lot about what is found in the water as well as the tidal cycle and weather.
If you are walking the beach take a moment to see what is found in the wrack. Photograph shells and molts and the wrack itself. Use a small ruler or object like a penny to show the scale its size in the photo. Do not handle dead birds but do include them too! Include images of marine debris you find in the wrack. menos ↑
