Very small plant. HT: approx. 3 -6 inches. Single stems with one flower head each. Stem coming from rosette of leaves on the ground. Flower head from approx. 1/2 - 1 inch diameter globe. Globe covered with tiny green flowers. From each a thin reddish spike, which clings to fibre etc and pulls out to reveal a small 'umbrella' like a dandelion seeds. Habitat: Dry sandstone and granite shale. Old site of mine workings for minerals and clay.
