This record is to confirm that the Lythrum in the Herbaceous Border of Christchurch Botanic Gardens is of this species. There was a plant of L. salicaria there as well but was removed over 10 yrs ago. This species has never produced seed.

This species has really taken off from its original planting in the Herbaceous Border and is beginning to turn up some distance away. It has been decided to remove it because of its potential to spread. A specimen has been made for lodging at CHBG (number to be provided later).
